AUGUSTA Ga. Before Tiger Woods walked to the practice putting green adjacent to the first tee his girlfriend Lindsey Vonn walked past the Big Oak Tree and headed down the hill to the first fairway.

Vonn wearing a brace on her right knee under a tan sun dress with matching hat was walking slowly but without a noticeable limp. The Olympic ski champ and Woods announced last month via Twitter and Facebook that they are dating.

It was unknown whether Vonn would made the trek to Augusta to watch her new beau make his run at a fifth green jacket so her appearance drew notice on the first morning of the tournament.

Lindsey Vonn is here. Put her on skis and I like her chances of driving the 10th hole.

Vonn shredded two ligaments in her right knee during a horrific crash in February. She underwent surgery two weeks later and is hoping to make a full recovery before the 2014 Olympics in Sochi.

She and Woods have stayed out of the limelight during their brief relationship except for the bizarre Facebook announcement that confirmed their pairing.

Vonn isn't the only star athlete watching her boyfriend play Augusta. Former No. 1 tennis player Caroline Wozniacki will be following Rory McIlroy at the Masters. On Wednesday Wozniacki caddied for McIlroy in the Par 3 competition.
