Frozen Four by the numbers
And the Hobey goes to...
The local rivals separated by just about seven miles down Whitney Ave. in New Haven County have played three times so far this season. Quinnipiac won all three games by a combined score of 13 3 a come from behind 6 2 win at Yale on Feb. 2 a 4 1 win on national television at QU on March 22 and a 3 0 win in the ECAC consolation game in Atlantic City on March 23.
Bobcats coach Rand Pecknold doesn't think that matters too much though.
Some people might say that's great for Quinnipiac and I would say that's really tough to beat somebody four times in a row said Pecknold after clinching a berth in the title game with a 4 1 win over St. Cloud State Thursday night.
The one thing I've seen from Yale I watched both of their NCAA tournament games Minnesota and North Dakota and I saw the game tonight this is a different team than when we beat them in Atlantic City. They've got some new jam. They're competing hard. They're doing some things and have some players that are on a different level than they were three or four weeks ago. I think you can throw the 3 0 out the window. It's going to be a battle.
